Presbyopia

Māoï technology is ideally suited for people long-sighted people. If your mask is equipped with correction lenses that facilitate near vision, they are usually located on the bottom of your mask. There will therefore be no interaction with māoï.

Myopia

The focal point of the māoï head-up display is about 1m50 in front of the diver’s eyes. If encounter trouble for reading a text at this distance, it is likely that you will need an appropriate correction. In this case, māoï works perfectly well with all the existing solutions (correcting mask glasses, contact lenses). A simple test in the air will give you a good idea. But remember: in the water, the digits will be 30% larger.

Other vision problems (astigmatism, farsightedness …)

Difficult to predict if you will be able to easily read the māoï head-up display. A test in the water is recommended to get a precise idea. For this, do not hesitate to contact our partner test centers.

We offer several solutions for a try:

• Some dive centers offer you to try māoï during a dive. You will see the map of these partner centers on the “buy – try” tab of our website. You can contact them directly or drop us a message via the contact form. We will then propose you several dates for a dive in the center of your choice.
• We regularly organize events and demonstration sessions. To be informed of the next dates, just fill in your details and tick the box “Demos māoï” on the “Newsletter” tab of our website.
• Not yet a solution, no tests are proposed near you: leave us a message via the contact form of our website

Most elements of the māoï are made of a shock-resistant polymer. This is particularly the case with optics and the external case. During the design, māoï suffered many falls and the hammer test. Māoï is resistant to all the shocks it can take while normally use.

Anyway:

• The optics are replaceable by the user. Spare parts are available in stores.
• As for a diver, it is out of question to lose a single dive, we directly manage after-sales service via our website.

We offer special conditions to dive instructors or dive centers who are committed to offer māoï experience to divers. To become an ambassador monitor, you can:

• go to one of the māoï sales points and ask for the instructor ambassador contract

Half face masks for recreational diving

Several fixation kits exist for māoï. By default, māoï is delivered with 2 supports to adapt to all the recreational masks:

• Half face single-glass masks with or without armature
• Half face bi-glass masks with armature

We already tested these kits on hundreds of different mask models. We have not yet found the mask on which māoï does not fit. Anyway, if you ever encounter a problem with the standard mounting kits, leave us a message via the contact form with the references of your mask. We will then propose a suitable solution.

Full face masks

We develop tailor-made attachment kits. These kits already exist for the OTS Guardian and Spectrum masks. Which also makes us compatible with some other brands like Interspiro, Apeks, Aqualung … Feel free to ask us for information about your model. We have rapid prototyping technologies that allows quick development of new mask-specific fixation kit.
